Here at ShearingHome, we get that many devout readers explore one or two different genres. We are the same way when it comes to the next book in our ever-growing TBR piles. Our love for multiple genres has crossed over into our writing work as we venture into unknown territory to give you a wide selection of stories and genres to choose from. Keep on reading to discover where ShearingHome fits in the different genres and find your next read.

What genres do we write in?
Genres start with major overarching categories that help narrow down a book into a more defined sub-genre. I like to think of it as a family tree with fiction and non-fiction being two of the founding genres of this tree. From there, they break down into sub-genres and those break down into even more niche sub-genres.
So, the main overarching genre we write in is fiction. Although, you probably guessed that. The main sub-genres we fall into are romance and fantasy. While most of our published work is romance, we have several others in the works that delve into fantasy. Some of those fantasy books are getting ready to be launched this year!
Romance
So, as mentioned before, one of our major sub-genres is romance. But even romance has so many little niches that it's important to talk about each one. Everyone might think of these different niches a little differently, but major elements are often the same throughout. Here's more about the romance niches you can read with ShearingHome:
Action & Adventure Romance
If you like kidnapping plots, rescue missions, and fighting, then all of our romance series are for you. Most of the books in our series have an action-based plot with many involving a rescue mission of some sort. There is romance interlaced throughout, and if you want more spicy scenes check out the first three books of the Perfect Series.
Dark Romance
For those who like the dark undertones of this niche, many of our series have their darker elements. While none of them are strictly dark romance, we do have characters who have their fair share of trauma (hence the trigger warnings we include at the start of every book). Some of our dark books include Perfectly Traumatized and the upcoming fourth book in the ResQ'd One Series.
Military Romance
Navy, Army, Air Force, oh my! Yes, quite a few of our characters hail from those three branches. Some of our characters you get to meet while they're still active duty military members, while others you meet once they've become veterans. Who doesn't love a man in uniform? For books that lean more into that military element, check out Z-Inc Lost and Found, where we meet Z during his military career.
Billionaire Romance
Many of our characters have a big net worth, some even delving into that billionaire status. Some try to keep that status a secret (cough cough Becky), while others aren't afraid to throw money down for their loved ones (we're looking at you, Neva). Yes, you read that right, many of our FMCs have made it big but our beloved MMCs have plenty of spending money, too.
Fantasy
While our fantasy books haven't yet hit the digital shelves, we are diving into several niches in this sub-genre as well. Want to know what to be on the lookout for? Here are some of the niches we have floating around on our idea boards:
Action Fantasy
Romantasy
Mythological Fantasy
Dark Fantasy
We don't want to give too much away here, so the niche is all you're getting at this time. Although, we can give you a hint about the upcoming Flight of the Witch release. It is firmly in that action fantasy niche, but rest assured, it also has those romantasy elements (with some spice sprinkled in).
Book sub-genres are seemingly limitless, with options ranging from historical dramas to space romance and everything in between. While ShearingHome predominately publishes content in romance and fantasy, that doesn't mean we won't dive into other sub-genres. What are your favorite sub-genres to explore? Now that you know more about our sub-genres, be sure to check out our books on Kindle or Kindle Unlimited. Happy reading!
